It is distilled with wine made from local grapes and aged in oak barrels to produce an easy-drinking spirit. Produced from the best Portuguese grapes, Macieira has a unique aroma and flavor following, for over 100 years, the same production process.
Macieira, with an alcohol content of 36%, is obtained from wine brandy aged for a minimum of six months in oak casks. Its subtle aroma results from the original recipe, kept secretly since its creation, and from the distillation of grapes from the Arinto, Periquita, Trincadeira and Fernão Pires varieties.
