Carrocel Red 2019

This wine comes from vines that are around 85 years old, measuring 5000 plants per hectare, located 500 m high and planted on granite soils with lines of sand. This wine always comes from the plot at the entrance of Quinta da Pellada, this vineyard was planted 45 years ago with the Touriga Nacional clone from the old vineyard. This old clone has the particularity of producing very little and is naturally concentrated. The grapes were vinified respecting their entire nature, in stainless steel vats with total maceration for up to 12 days. Malolactic fermentation and aging was done in wooden barrels for 2 years for 4 years.

Nose of sweet aromatic red and black fruits with some chocolaty richness. Pure and focused with good definition. The palate has some obvious oak, but is also beautifully structured with bright acidity. Real potential.
