Hacienda Monasterio Crianza is a red wine from Bodegas Hacienda Monasterio, in the DO Ribera del Duero. Hacienda Monasterio is one of the great wineries in Ribera del Duero, headed by Peter Sisseck, the well-known Danish winemaker who created Pingus, one of the best Spanish wines in history.

Furthermore, the winery's vineyards are located in a privileged area of ​​the DO, between Pesquera and Valbuena del Duero. It is the famous "golden mile", known for the exceptional characteristics of the terroir and for grouping around it some of the best wineries in Spain.

Hacienda Monasterio Crianza is made from the Tinto Fino variety (the most representative of Ribera), complemented with a small percentage of Cabernet-Sauvignon and Merlot varieties. The grapes come from vineyards on a single property, with very calcareous soils that give great finesse and elegance to the wine. Furthermore, the southern orientation of the vineyards favors the ripening of the grapes and the low yields of the vines contribute to a great aromatic capacity and a highly concentrated must.

Vineyard cultivation is ecological, no pesticides or herbicides are used or any type of chemical fertilizer that could have a negative impact on the environment. In this way, the natural biological activity of the soil remains intact, allowing the vineyard to express the true identity of its environment.

The grapes are harvested entirely by hand and transported to the winery in small plastic boxes. Once in the cellar, only the bunches that are in the best condition are selected. For the production of Hacienda Monasterio Crianza, after total stemming, the grapes macerate for 24 days. Subsequently, fermentation takes place using only natural yeast from the vineyard itself.

After vinification, Hacienda Monasterio Crianza spends 17 months in French Allier oak barrels (30% new barrels and 70% 3-wine barrels) with racking every 3 months.
