Marko Gure Arbasoak 2021/2022

'Gure Arbasoak', which in Basque means 'Our Ancestors', represents respect for ancient Basque culture. The phrase on the front of the label comes from a Basque spell… Baga, Biga, Higa. Ikimilikiliklik, Izan Ontsa! (One, two, three. Abracadabra. Be good!).

The vineyards are located in Kortezubi, a small town in Biscay near the coast, famous for its prehistoric caves, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The vineyards are located on a ridge of mud on limestone subsoil. Slate can be found in some parts.

On the nose, it presents aromas of ripe apple and pear, with floral touches. The fermentation in barrels and the bâtonnages that are carried out add complexity and creaminess that can be appreciated in the mouth, with a smoky touch and an elegant, mineral and long finish.
