Description
Pó de Poeira Branco 2023 is a Douro white made by winemaker Jorge Moreira at Quinta do Poeira, standing out as a fresh, round entry-level wine with a Mediterranean profile.
The Wine AdvocateRP 90Reviewed by: Luis Gutiérrez
The entry-level white, the 2023 Pó de Poeira Branco, is an Albariño that I remember they planted next to the winery and the house. It's a surprising grape on schist soils and in a hot, dry site. It's slightly more rustic and Mediterranean, round and soft, with intense flavours and a dry finish.
Poeira, or Quinta do Poeira, is the family project of couple Jorge Moreira and Olga Martins. They own nine hectares in Provesende, in the Pinhão Valley, where the winery is, with vines between 21 and 70 years old, and two hectares in Covas do Douro, planted in 1950.
