Despite the challenging conditions of the year, they also made the 2013 Cartago Paraje del Pozo, a very cool year for Toro. It shows aromas of tar and liquorice, a little wild, with power and good freshness. It has abundant, fine-grained tannins. It's a wine for keeping, with structure and tannins, from a cool vineyard in a cool vintage, very well suited to ageing in your cellar.

It has already developed some complexity, with notes of tea leaves, bitter chocolate, meat and underbrush.

Production of around 3,800 bottles.

The 2018 Cartago Paraje del Pozo single-vineyard red is young and energetic, quite tannic and still not very approachable, despite having been in bottle for a year and a half. It comes from a 50-year-old plot on very poor soils that gave restrained ripeness. 2018 was a cooler, rainier year, giving classic wines with good concentration and balance for long ageing.
This wine had an extended 30 months in new and used oak barrels. It's a concentrated, ripe, powerful and oak-marked Tempranillo (or Tinta de Toro) that still needs more time in bottle.
3,745 bottles were produced, bottled in July 2021.
