Description

The rainy 1999 harvest was followed by a cold, dry winter with almost no rain. April and May were very wet, June and July dry, and the first half of August extremely hot. Picking began on 20 September. The resulting wines were very full-bodied, with deep colour and very attractive aromas.

The turn of the century was acclaimed for producing exceptional Ports, particularly in the Douro region.

Tasting Note: Deep magenta colour. Powerful, intense aromas of black fruit and cherry, with charming, perfumed aromatic notes. On the palate this wine is in perfect harmony, with beautifully balanced fruit and tannins. Rich, elegant and delicious black-fruit flavours. Enormous concentration, with that attractive perfumed quality emerging once again. A long, intense finish. Very stylish.
