Description

Filipa Pato & William Wouters Post Quercus Baga 2024 is an outstanding biodynamic red from Portugal's Bairrada region that skips oak ageing in favour of an ancestral clay-talha approach.

Filipa Pato Post Quercus (after the Age of Oak) is inspired by the Romans, who left their legacy of clay talhas in Bairrada. Micro-oxygenation through the amphorae's clay helps soften the tannins.

Tasting Note

Elegant and expressive, with aromas of fresh cherry, raspberry and wild berries, wrapped in delicate dried-herb notes and a subtle hint of black pepper and earth. On the palate it's fresh, juicy and vibrant, with an enveloping texture, fine, silky tannins and balanced acidity giving precision and liveliness. The finish is fresh and persistent, marked by pure fruit.

Serve at 16–18 ºC. Its freshness and elegance make it particularly versatile at the table, perfect with grilled oily fish, richer shellfish and light, fresh meat dishes.
