Porcupine Ridge Cabernet Sauvignon 2022

Porcupine Ridge Cabernet Sauvignon 2022 is a South African red from the Coastal Region, made by the prestigious Boekenhoutskloof. It's widely recognised as excellent value for money, ideal for everyday drinking.

The Porcupine Ridge brand has its roots in the farm's natural environment and ongoing efforts to conserve the biodiversity of the property and surrounding mountains. As well as a number of rare species of fauna and flora, such as Erica lerouxiae, endemic to Boekenhoutskloof, the farm is home to several families of crested porcupines, which are rarely seen because of their nocturnal lifestyle.

The nose is intense, with classic black fruit and ‘nuances’ of cranberry, cigar box, graphite and subtle perfume. The black cherry, blueberry and blackberry character of the nose follows through to a well-rounded mid-palate, with notes of oregano, rosemary and graphite from the French oak. The palate is juicy, smooth and agile, but with enough structure from its fine tannins and vibrant acidity to balance. A pleasant garrigue character lingers on a composed finish with notes of dark chocolate.
