Description

Porcupine Ridge Chardonnay 2023 is a South African white from the Western Cape, made by the renowned Boekenhoutskloof. It's known as a fresh wine with excellent value for money, with a vibrant citrus profile and a subtle touch of French oak.

Boekenhoutskloof's Porcupine Ridge Chardonnay comes from the Western Cape. The wine is named after the porcupine, one of the farm's most characteristic inhabitants and a symbol of its efforts to conserve local biodiversity.

The grapes are picked at different ripeness levels to balance freshness, fruitiness and structure. Fermentation is cool in stainless steel tanks with selected yeasts, followed by three months in used French oak barrels.

Straw yellow. The nose is intense and vibrant, with a profusion of lemon, lime, grapefruit, cream and pineapple. On the palate it's balanced and fresh, with citrus touches and a pleasant spicy ‘nuance’. The finish is long and persistent, with notes of green apple and verbena.

This Chardonnay pairs perfectly with vegetable tempura, appetisers and flans.
