Wine profile
Body
This wine: 4 out of 5 — closer to «full».
How heavy and full the wine feels in your mouth — from light like skimmed milk to rich like cream. It comes mainly from alcohol, extract and, in sweet wines, sugar.
Wine profile
Tannin
This wine: 4 out of 5 — closer to «firm».
Tannins come from grape skins, seeds and oak. You feel them as a pleasant drying grip on gums and tongue — from silky and velvety to firm and chewy.
Wine profile

This wine: 3 out of 5 — right in the middle.
The freshness that makes your mouth water, like a squeeze of lemon. It gives a wine tension, length and ageing potential, and makes it great with food.
Wine profile

Description
A Douro red with less intense colour and more moderate alcohol than the region's traditional reds. With an excellent balance between acidity, alcohol and tannin. A singular wine made from old vines, with around 20 native Portuguese varieties including Alvarelhão, Rufete, Tinta carvalha, Tinta da Barca, Tinta francisca, Alicante bouschet and others not identified.
Grandes Escolhas: The name is fitting, as it truly departs from the Douro "convention", both in its grapes (Tinta Carvalha, Tinta da Barca, Rufete, Cornifesto, Tinta Francisca and many others) and in its style. Deep and complex on the nose, light and firm at the same time, with earthy notes and plenty of spice, an unusual freshness on the palate; vibrant, full of character and elegance.
