Description

Kavalan Concertmaster is a Taiwanese single malt finished in port casks, a special link to Portugal’s Douro valley. After maturing in American oak in Yilan’s warm climate, the whisky picks up a layer of red fruit and vinous sweetness from tawny and ruby port casks.

Matured in American oak and port casks and bottled at 40%, it shows red berries, honey, vanilla and mango on the nose. The palate is creamy, with plum, cherry, dark chocolate and cinnamon. The finish is long, with red berries, caramel and spice.

A generous, enveloping after-dinner whisky. Serve it neat in a nosing glass and add a drop of water to open the aromas. It pairs with dark chocolate, nuts, fruit cake and aged cheeses.
