A great 2018 harvest in
Saint-Julien appellationChâteau Langoa Barton is a magnificent reference of the small but very qualitative denomination, Saint-Julien , located on the right bank of the vineyard of Bordeaux . Grand Cru Classé in 1855 , Chateau Langoa Barton has the distinction of always belonging to the Barton family, and this since 1821!
When asked about the 2018 harvest, Damien Sartorius , the Château’s general manager, sums it up in one word: intense. From budburst to harvest, 2018 was unpredictable, but in his words, the dedication of the vineyard teams, present in the rows according to the weather, made possible a healthy and high-quality harvest.
Chateau Langoa Barton 2018 is based on a blend of 63% Cabernet Sauvignon, 28% Merlot and 9% Cabernet Franc, aged in 60% new barrels.
This red wine from Saint-Julien is powerful without being as sunny as a 2003. Marked by the balance and finesse of its tannins, the Langoa Barton 2018 develops intense fruity flavors, enhanced by a very pleasant freshness. Precise and gourmand, the estate even compares it to a 2010. A great vintage.
