The 2024 Passagem Reserva Branco is a clear step up in quality from the 2023, with much better oak integration, as no new wood was used this year. It's made from a combination of Arinto and Rabigato from seven-year-old vines in the Douro Superior.

It shows more volume and ripeness, with 12.5% alcohol, while still keeping excellent balance and elegance, supported by a pH of 3.34. 3,700 bottles were produced. The wine was bottled in May 2025.

After the drought came torrential rain. 2023 and 2024 replenished water reserves and made fresher wines possible, with 2024 establishing itself as a classic vintage. However, the rain that fell after the 2025 harvest was simply excessive.

At Quinta de la Rosa the effects were particularly significant. “The rain has caused untold damage to many of our dry-stone walls, and the road between Pinhão and La Rosa is closed due to landslides. So we're quite isolated. I just hope it stops raining soon,” said owner Sophia Bergqvist in mid-February 2026.

Although most of Quinta de la Rosa's production is devoted to reds and Port, Douro whites have gained growing prominence and relevance in recent years. The estate has a wide range of whites, producing between 40,000 and 50,000 litres a year.

In 2019, 2.3 hectares of the Cerejinha vineyard were replanted with Alvarinho, Arinto and Gouveio. The 2023 and 2024 wines show increasingly clear freshness, coming after a particularly hot, dry 2022.
