Wine profile
Body
This wine: 4 out of 5 — closer to «full».
How heavy and full the wine feels in your mouth — from light like skimmed milk to rich like cream. It comes mainly from alcohol, extract and, in sweet wines, sugar.
Wine profile
Tannin
This wine: 4 out of 5 — closer to «firm».
Tannins come from grape skins, seeds and oak. You feel them as a pleasant drying grip on gums and tongue — from silky and velvety to firm and chewy.
Wine profile
Acidity
This wine: 3 out of 5 — right in the middle.
The freshness that makes your mouth water, like a squeeze of lemon. It gives a wine tension, length and ageing potential, and makes it great with food.
Wine profile
Alcohol
This wine: 5 out of 5 — closer to «high» (15% vol.).
Alcohol brings warmth and body. Still wines usually sit between about 11% and 15% ABV, while fortified wines such as Port sit around 19–20%.

Description
Benjamín Romeo is Spain's best-known "garagiste", for the "Vins de Garage" he made for several years. The story begins in 1995, when he bought a centuries-old cellar right below the castle of San Vicente de la Sonsierra. In 1996 he released the first Cueva del Contador and joined the world of "bodegueros". At that time he made the wines in the garage of his house, converted into a winery. As international critics began to recognise his wines, in 2000 he decided to work on them full-time, and was later rewarded with 100 points from Robert Parker's Wine Advocate for the 2004 and 2005 vintages of his icon wine, Contador. In 2008 a new stage in his career began with the opening of his new winery, an architectural monument. Today his range is larger, but always at the very top in terms of quality.
