Wine profile
Description
Domaine Bonnard Pouilly-Fumé 2024 is a dry, vibrant white from the Loire Valley in France, made exclusively from Sauvignon Blanc.
The wine is made in the Loire Valley from Sauvignon Blanc, which shows immediately on the nose, full of green vegetal notes, cut grass and a light tropical note of passion fruit. Lovely acidity; it's light-bodied but very capable with seafood or with cheeses such as Camembert.
Located in the village of Saint-Andelain, three kilometres from the town of Pouilly-sur-Loire, Domaine Bonnard was bought in 1951 by the grandfather of the generation now running the business. It started with mixed farming and livestock, evolving year after year to now specialise in cereals and wine. Pouilly-Fumé is a dry white made from Sauvignon Blanc. The name Pouilly-Fumé has two parts: "Pouilly" for Pouilly-sur-Loire, the village where Domaine Bonnard's wines are made, and "Fumé", short for Blanc Fumé, the local nickname for Sauvignon Blanc.
