Description

Patrick Javillier Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru 2023 is a prestigious white Burgundy (Côte de Beaune), France, made from Chardonnay. Domaine Patrick Javillier, widely recognised for its mastery in Meursault, owns a tiny parcel of just 0.17 hectares on the hill of Corton.

Sophisticated and expressive, this white stands out for its concentration, enveloping texture and extraordinary mineral definition. On the nose it shows a complex aromatic ensemble of crushed stone and orchard fruit, especially white peach and pear, with delicate nuances of acacia blossom, toasted hazelnut and subtle hints of spice from oak ageing.

On the palate it's broad, full-bodied and unctuous, supported by firm, vibrant acidity that gives balance and tension. The marked saline mineral component combines with concentrated fruit, giving a deep, complex, very focused wine.

Winemaking and Ageing: The 2023 vintage fermented with indigenous yeasts and then aged in French oak barrels. Second-fill barrels were favoured, preserving terroir expression and integrating the oak discreetly and harmoniously.
