Description
GlenDronach 18 Years Old is an absolute benchmark among sherried whiskies. The distillery, founded in 1826 in the eastern Highlands, is known for maturing in Spanish sherry casks, and this expression spends eighteen years in oloroso casks.
Bottled at 46%, non-chill filtered and with natural colour, the nose reveals oloroso sherry, plum, chocolate and spice. The palate is dense and deep, with raisins, cocoa, walnuts and a hint of leather. The finish is very long, dry and spicy.
A whisky to enjoy slowly, neat and at room temperature. It pairs with dark chocolate, cured ham, long-aged cheeses and nuts. A bottle every sherry lover should own.
