The age on the label is that of the youngest whiskey in the blend: every component spent at least 15 years in cask. Only time in wood counts — once bottled, whiskey does not age.

A 700 ml bottle gives about 17 measures of 4 cl. Once opened, store it upright, tightly closed and away from light and heat: spirits keep well for months but slowly lose aroma once the bottle is half empty.

Description
The Macallan 15 Years Old Double Cask brings together the best of two worlds: American oak and European oak casks, both seasoned with sherry in Jerez. The result is a Speyside single malt that marries the sweetness and vanilla of American oak with the fruity, spicy richness of European oak.
The nose reveals caramel, vanilla, baked apple and a hint of spice. The palate is creamy and balanced, with honey, nuts, ginger and a touch of citrus. The finish is medium to long, with sweet oak and caramel.
An excellent way to explore Macallan beyond the 12 year old. Enjoy it neat in a nosing glass or over a single small ice cube. It works beautifully with caramel desserts, apple tart or hard cheeses.
