Description

Bunnahabhain 12 Years Old comes from the northernmost distillery on Islay, in an isolated bay facing the Isle of Jura. Unlike most of its neighbours, Bunnahabhain mainly uses unpeated barley, giving a maritime but not smoky style.

Bottled at 46.3%, non-chill filtered and with natural colour, it combines whisky from bourbon and sherry casks. The nose has nuts, dried fruit, salt and a very light smoke. The palate is full, with caramel, raisins, malt and salty notes. The finish is long, with nuts and salt.

An excellent alternative for exploring Islay without heavy peat. Serve neat or with a drop of water. It pairs with nuts, aged sheep cheese, cured ham and milk chocolate.
