Description

Clynelish sits in Brora on the north-east Highland coast and is adored by connoisseurs for its unique waxy texture, almost like beeswax. This character comes from deposits that build up in the spirit receivers, which the distillery carefully preserves. The 14 Year Old is a salty, elegant cult classic.

Matured for 14 years in bourbon casks and refill casks and bottled at 46%, it shows beeswax, citrus, sea salt and flowers on the nose. The palate is oily and full-bodied, with beeswax, honey, orange and pepper. The finish is long, with sea salt, spice and oak.

Balanced and complex, it works as well for a relaxed evening as for a special dinner. Serve neat or with a drop of water. It pairs with roast meats, mushrooms, nuts and hard cheeses.
