Description

Founded in 1869 by John Smith on the banks of the Spey, Cragganmore was one of the first distilleries built beside the railway. Its unusually shaped flat-topped stills produce a complex spirit. The 12 Year Old is part of the Classic Malts collection as the Speyside representative.

Matured for 12 years in bourbon casks and refill casks and bottled at 40%, it shows heather honey, flowers, green apple and oak on the nose. The palate is silky, with honey, malted cereal, vanilla and peat smoke. The finish is medium, with oak, spice and peat smoke.

Balanced and complex, it works as well for a relaxed evening as for a special dinner. Serve neat or with a drop of water. It pairs with roast meats, mushrooms, nuts and hard cheeses.
