Supreme Bards 2020

Bardos was created as a tribute to the peasants who live in these rugged areas, tending their vineyards and dedicating their lives to the rural environment in a land of extremes. To pay homage to these heroes, the winery works with the utmost respect for the grapes, using artisanal methods, hand-harvesting, using only native yeasts and selected French oak barrels, avoiding the filtration of the wines, techniques with which the perfect balance between power and finesse, complexity and intensity is achieved.

The age of the Bardos vines generally ranges between 30 and 60 years, although there are also vines that are over 80 years old. These are Tinta del País (Tempranillo) vines that are perfectly adapted to the continental climate. The youngest ones, in turn, correspond to the small percentage of Cabernet Sauvignon that is used to make some of the project's wines. Likewise, Bardos has some Verdejo vineyards in La Seca (Valladolid) with which it makes a white wine.

Bodegas Bardos produces three red wines in which the Tempranillo grape is the star: Bardos Romântica, a crianza red made entirely from this grape; Bardos Reserva, which incorporates a small percentage of Cabernet Sauvignon; and Bardos Suprema, aged for 30 months in barrels. These three wines are joined by a Verdejo de Rueda made from vineyards planted in the heart of the region.

The Patriarch of the Bards of Vintae spent more than 30 months in French oak barrels. Thirty months! It is also made with grapes from very limited production vineyards, over 80 years old. Supreme power, but with fine and elegant tannins.
