Domaine de l'Oratoire Saint-Martin Cairanne "Les Douyes" 2019 is an outstanding organic and biodynamic red from Cairanne, in France's Rhône Valley.

It's known for its concentration and depth, made from old vines (some a century old) planted on limestone-rich soil.

The critic gives this red 91 points, highlighting above all its combination of ripeness and structure.

On the nose it's expressive, with notes of crushed blackberries, ripe black plums and a light touch of dried spice that adds complexity.

Medium to full-bodied on the palate, with a smooth, juicy texture. The tannins are round and well integrated, supporting the fruit in balance without becoming aggressive.

The finish is harmonious and fruity, reflecting the Grenache and Mourvèdre blend, typical of a warm, generous 2019.

According to Suckling, the wine is ready to enjoy now, though it can still improve with a few years in bottle.
