Description
La Closerie des Eyrins Margaux 2021 is an elegant, approachable red made in the prestigious Margaux terroir in Bordeaux, France. The estate (Château des Eyrins) is run by Julie and Xavier Gonet-Médeville, on an exceptional plateau whose vines border those of the iconic Château Margaux.
On the nose it shows a deep, enveloping expression, with notes of toasted oak very well integrated with aromas of dark chocolate, molasses and ripe black fruit. Earthy, leather and spice nuances enrich the aromatic complexity, adding depth and character.
On the palate it's medium-bodied, supported by fine tannins and vibrant acidity giving tension and freshness. Flavours of wild berries and spice carry through in an elegant, balanced, well-defined profile. The finish is long, dry and precise, with pleasant persistence.
This wine reflects the character of the 2021 Bordeaux vintage, marked by demanding weather and more moderate alcohol. The result is a classic, fresh, elegant red with a notable gastronomic vocation and a personality evoking the more refined style of great Bordeaux of decades past.
