18.5 points Grandes Escolhas
Made from an old vineyard in the Borba region with schist soils and at an altitude of 420 meters, Mamoré de Borba Grande Reserva 2020 is a red wine of great distinction, the result of the marriage between the Alicante Bouschet and Trincadeira grape varieties. On the nose, it reveals a sophisticated bouquet, where notes of plum and ripe blackberry intertwine with elegant 'nuances' of cigar box and balsamic notes.
In the mouth, it reveals a solid structure, with polished tannins that give it a silky and balanced texture. The surprising freshness brings vivacity to the whole, while the finish is rich and deep, marked by subtle notes of chestnuts and spices. With time in the glass, the wine expands, gaining even more complexity and presence.
An excellent companion for game dishes and oven roasts, demonstrating the nobility and longevity of the great wines of Alentejo.
