Pintas Vintage Porto 2021

Pintas Vintage Porto 2021 is an exceptional fortified Port made by the renowned Wine & Soul project of winemakers Sandra Tavares da Silva and Jorge Serôdio Borges. This is the 14th release of this prestigious vintage.

The Pintas Vintage Port 2021 shows the voluptuous character of this terroir and has a quite different profile from Quinta da Manoella. It comes from the lower part of the vineyard.

It's extremely dark in colour, almost black, totally opaque. It's still very young, with a greedy, fruity character, showing notes of black olive, graphite, earth, a saline touch — which made me think of the sea — and resinous, floral nuances.

On the palate it's tannic, as you'd expect from such a young Vintage, but the tannins are fine and elegant. It's still a baby and can already be enjoyed, but its true complexity will emerge with years of ageing in bottle.

About 2,000 bottles were produced.

Wine & Soul, from Jorge Serôdio and Sandra Tavares, has focused its efforts on the vineyards in recent years. The estate has grown from the original two hectares for Pintas to more than 40 hectares today. The portfolio has also grown, as have production volumes. They now produce about 180,000 bottles, including Port.
