In 1845, on Madeira Island, William Hinton founded his distillery. With the aim of producing Rum of the highest quality. In 1882, he assumed a dominant position in the production and harvesting of sugar cane and at the end of the 19th century, he invested heavily in production technology with the construction of the famous "Engenho" on Madeira Island, an international reference in innovation in the sector.

Rum carefully aged for a minimum period of 6 years in French oak barrels. The final blend is the result of a second aging period of one more year in several barrels of different origins, including Madeira wine barrels. The result is a distinct and complex rum.
