Quinta do Piloto Moscatel de Setúbal 20 anos Superior is one of Portugal's most emblematic and complex fortified wines. Made on the Setúbal Peninsula by the prestigious Quinta do Piloto, this blend is made up of selected vintages (such as 1996, 1999 and 2000) and ages oxidatively in century-old 100-litre casks.

The NV Moscatel de Setúbal Superior 20 Anos has 290 grams of residual sugar. It's a blend of the 1996, 1999 and 2000 vintages. The most exciting of the Moscatels in this issue, this is where molasses and apricots come together to create something complex and special. The mid-palate has that rich, unctuous feel. Overall it stays well balanced, and the finish is practically endless. The question here isn't how long the finish lasts, but whether it will ever stop sending out waves of flavour. It costs about 85 euros in Portugal for a 500 ml bottle, but it isn't imported yet.
