Description

Winemaking: The grapes are hand-picked into small baskets; they come from a single harvest and the winemaking follows the traditional way of making Port. After partial destemming, the grapes are foot-trodden in old stone lagares. Fermentation is temperature-controlled and stopped by adding grape spirit (aguardente). Made this way, the wine has great ageing potential. A single-harvest wine, aged in oak casks for at least 7 years. See the back label for the bottling year.

Tasting notes:
Tawny colour with orange nuances. Well balanced, with good acidity and freshness, and aromas of raisins, dried fruit and some vanilla. Smooth and silky with a strong texture and a long finish.

Storage and serving tips: Store the bottle upright, at a constant temperature and away from strong direct light. Once opened, ideally drink within 6 to 8 weeks. Serve at 14–16 °C.

Food pairing: Can be served with coffee or chocolates. Goes with desserts such as crème brûlée or fruit tarts, and also desserts made with chocolate, dried fruit and caramel.
