Description

Capoforte Negroamaro IGT Salento tinto is an outstanding Italian red, made by the Masseria Capoforte winery in the emblematic Salento region of Puglia, southern Italy. Made from the native Negroamaro grape, it stands out for its full-bodied profile, generous 15% alcohol and an intense, complex bouquet.

Capoforte Negroamaro IGT Salento shows at first glance an intense, deep ruby-red colour, almost opaque, foreshadowing all its concentration and Mediterranean character.

On the nose it has a complex, enveloping aromatic profile, dominated by ripe red and black fruit — juicy plum and black cherry — in harmony with delicate nuances of vanilla, cocoa powder, roasted espresso and subtle tobacco-leaf notes, the result of careful oak ageing.

On the palate it's full-bodied, warm and seductive, with a velvety texture and perfectly integrated tannins. Balanced acidity brings freshness and depth, leading to a dry, persistent, elegant finish.

After malolactic fermentation, the wine ages for 12 months in large oak casks, gaining structure, complexity and refinement.

At the table it goes especially well with pasta in rich meat sauces, lasagne, traditional ragù, grilled or roast red meat, game, hearty stews and hard aged cheeses such as Pecorino or Parmigiano.
