Description

Redbreast 12 Year Old is regarded as the ultimate reference for the single pot still style, the most Irish tradition of all. It is triple distilled in copper pot stills at Midleton distillery in County Cork from a mash of malted and unmalted barley, giving an unmistakable oily texture and spicy character.

Matured for 12 years in oloroso sherry casks and bourbon casks and bottled at 40%, it shows red berries, spice, toffee and walnuts on the nose. The palate is creamy, with raisins, ginger, honey and pepper. The finish is long, with walnuts, spice and caramel.

A generous, enveloping after-dinner whisky. Serve it neat in a nosing glass and add a drop of water to open the aromas. It pairs with dark chocolate, nuts, fruit cake and aged cheeses.
