Caminhos Cruzados was created by the initiative and determination of Paulo Santos, a native of Nelas, who, determined to return to his roots and invest in the world of wine, decided to transform an old agricultural company into a modern wine producing and bottling company. The company's philosophy is based on the production of quality wines, with a traditional touch combined with the modernism and constant differentiation that the market demands. Its wines are made from grapes produced in-house and from selected producers, renowned for their quality and excellent grape varieties, all in the Dão region. Caminhos Cruzados is the result of the union of ideas and projects, and promises to help put Nelas' name back on the map as a land of choice wines.
Winemaking: Hand-picked in 15kg boxes. Destemmed grapes, direct pressing in a pneumatic press and cold static decantation. Total fermentation in French oak barrels. Aged for 9 months with “bâtonagge”. Bottling in November 2016.
Tasting Notes: The great white grape variety of Dão, here with part of the batch fermented in French oak barrels. Great freshness and minerality combined with an enormous capacity for positive evolution in the bottle.
