Description

Yellow Spot is the older sibling of Green Spot, from the Mitchell & Son family of Dublin, who marked their barrels with a dab of coloured paint according to age. This 12 year old Midleton single pot still matures in three cask types, bourbon, sherry and Malaga wine, and is bottled at 46%.

Matured for 12 years in bourbon casks, sherry casks and Madeira casks and bottled at 46%, it shows peach, honey, apricot and clove on the nose. The palate is creamy, with honey, tropical fruit, red berries and spice. The finish is long, with honey, spice and oak.

A generous, enveloping after-dinner whisky. Serve it neat in a nosing glass and add a drop of water to open the aromas. It pairs with dark chocolate, nuts, fruit cake and aged cheeses.
